The QUARTET 107 Pyramid reinterprets the classic Quartet architecture through a faceted pyramid composition carved from natural obsidian. Instead of flat geometric cubes, the surface is formed by precisely shaped pyramids that create a dramatic play of light and shadow, emphasizing the natural depth and brilliance of volcanic glass.
Handcrafted from 107 individually assembled elements, the ashtray combines Armenian black or brown obsidian, crystal glass and polished brass into a bold architectural composition. Every pyramid is carefully cut, polished and aligned to create a continuous geometric surface that changes its appearance as the viewing angle and surrounding light shift.
At the centre, a removable crystal ash bowl becomes the visual focal point of the design, framed by four magnetic cigar holders integrated seamlessly into the brass structure. Each holder can be detached independently, allowing the ashtray to adapt naturally to different smoking occasions while preserving its perfectly balanced composition.

THE ARTISTRY OF MATERIALS
Obsidian (Volcanic Glass). Origin: Armenia
Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly, preserving exceptional density, purity and a mirror-like surface. Armenian obsidian is particularly valued for its deep colour, fine structure and distinctive mineral character.
The pyramid-cut geometry intensifies the natural optical qualities of obsidian. Every polished facet captures and reflects light differently, producing constantly changing highlights and shadows that emphasize the depth of the stone.
Crystal Glass. Optically clear crystal introduces transparency and visual lightness, creating contrast with the solid volcanic stone while enhancing the architectural composition.
Brass. Precisely machined brass components provide structural integrity while adding warmth and refined metallic contrast to the natural materials.
