THE ARTISTRY OF MATERIALS
Pure crystal containing 24% PbO gives the broad walls of the ice bucket a strong light-refracting presence. A hand-engraved lattice of vertical and horizontal lines wraps around the vessel, transforming its clear surface into a continuous field of precisely defined facets.
As the viewing angle changes, the resulting prisms send reflections around the circumference and through the ice inside, adding movement to the otherwise colourless form.
