THE ARTISTRY OF MATERIALS
Pure crystal containing 24% PbO gives the Sinfonia decanters the light-catching intensity needed to express their upward-moving decoration. Inspired by a triumphal march, hand-cut waves climb from the lower body towards the sculptural stoppers, with changing depths producing flashes rather than a uniform shine.
The PbO content increases refraction through the cuts, making the pattern appear to advance through the crystal as each decanter is turned. This optical movement reinforces the rhythm and storm-like energy of the design.
