Introducing the Obsidian Sculpted Cigar Ashtray Type 1, a monolithic object defined by fluid geometry, carved surfaces and the reflective depth of natural volcanic glass. The composition is formed through continuous sculpted transitions that merge functional cigar rests with a recessed central chamber, creating a unified architectural volume.
Crafted entirely from black obsidian, silver obsidian or mahogany obsidian, the ashtray reveals the dense reflective character of polished volcanic glass through sharply defined surfaces and smooth directional curves. The sculpted geometry creates changing reflections across the object, emphasizing depth, contrast and material intensity.
The integrated cigar rests emerge naturally from the carved structure without interruption to the overall form. The deep concave center establishes visual focus while reinforcing the sculptural balance of the composition.

Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed through the rapid cooling of lava, creating a dense material with a reflective surface and deep visual character.
Armenian obsidian is recognized for its purity, sharp structure and distinctive mineral patterns. Depending on the variety, the surface reveals dense black tones, silver directional reflections or layered mahogany-brown formations. Used since antiquity for ceremonial objects, carving and ornamentation, obsidian remains one of the most expressive natural materials in sculptural design.
