HIGH-END CIGAR HUMIDOR WATERLOO WALNUT BURLWaterloo is a limited 3/3 line: two humidors made from two different types of wood and inlaid with gemstones. Only one edition was produced.
Flags of France and the United Kingdom are inlaid on the bottom side from mother of pearl, Afghan lapis lazuli and Ural jasper.
The coats of arms of Napoleonic France and the United Kingdom are inlaid on the top of the humidor.
Replicas of historical medals are inlaid under the coats of arms.
One of them is the Saint Helena Medal — the first French campaign medal. It was established in 1857 by a decree of Emperor Napoleon III to recognize participation in the campaigns led by Emperor Napoleon I.
Another medal was commissioned by Sir William Wellesley Pole, brother of the Duke of Wellington, shortly after the battle that helped shape the face of Europe. It features an image of the Prince Regent looking left, and on the reverse a seated figure of Victory with the inscription “Waterloo”, the date “June 18, 1815”, and “Wellington”.
The Waterloo humidor approaches historical commemoration through material composition rather than narrative decoration. Heraldic elements, medals and national symbols are integrated directly into the cabinet structure through gemstone inlay, transforming the humidor into a crafted historical object.
The combination of walnut burl, mineral inlays and precision cabinetmaking establishes a dialogue between European decorative tradition and modern humidor engineering.
Produced as part of a three-piece series, each Waterloo humidor functions simultaneously as a cigar storage instrument and a collectible object that connects craftsmanship, history and material symbolism.
THE ARTISTRY OF MATERIALSRoyal Blue Lapis Lazuli. Lapis lazuli, the gem variety of lazurite and one of the most beautiful opaque gemstones. Known as “sapphires” by the ancients, the stone occurs in only a few major deposits around the world. The most prized lapis is a dark, nearly blackish blue, much deeper than turquoise and more intense than sodalite or azurite. Pyrite, a commonly associated mineral, is often liberally sprinkled throughout lapis specimens, to create a striking combination of rich blue and brassy gold.
Red Jasper. The unique artistry of Jasper is that of Nature itself - red rock canyons. Each stone is a masterpiece of the Creator. Red Jasper is red to terracotta brown, stone of physical strength and energy.
Mother of Pearl is the nacreous inner shell coating of pearl-producing mollusks. Mother of pearl has been used for thousands of years; it was used by the ancient Egyptians and Sumerians. One of the best Mother of Pearl comes from Japan and Persian Gulf.
Walnut Burl. Origin: North America. Walnut burl is a classic beauty. The rich brown color is frequently accented with a light coat of penetrating stain which brings out the figure.
Cigar Box Spanish Cedar. Origin: Central and South America. Spanish cedar is a tropical hardwood found throughout Central and South America. It is one the world’s most important timber species. Esteemed for its aromatic and attractive pink to salmon-red wood, which is resistant to rotting and insects. Has a distinct, lingering, cedar-like scent; this characteristic of the wood makes it a favorite for humidor boxes.
