OBSIDIAN CIGAR BOARD & SERVING TRAY — BLACK OR BROWN
The Obsidian Cigar Board & Serving Tray is conceived as a dedicated presentation surface for arranging and serving cigars with clarity, order and visual impact. Its elongated rectangular form is carved from natural obsidian and elevated on sculptural metal supports, giving the object a refined architectural presence above the tabletop.
A sequence of parallel channels runs through the central section of the board. Each channel is shaped to hold an individual cigar securely while keeping the cigars separated and clearly displayed. Broad polished platforms at both ends frame the composition and provide visual balance without distracting from the cigars themselves.
Available in black obsidian, silver obsidian or brown mahogany obsidian, the tray changes character according to the selected stone. The black version creates a deep, restrained surface with mirror-like reflections, while the brown version introduces warmer volcanic patterns and naturally varied mineral movement.
Designed for private cigar rooms, lounges, tastings and formal presentation, the piece functions both as a practical cigar holder and as a sculptural serving object for the table.

THE ARTISTRY OF MATERIALS
Obsidian — Origin: Armenia
Obsidian is a naturally formed volcanic glass created when lava cools rapidly before mineral crystals can develop. Its dense structure allows the stone to achieve a smooth, highly polished surface with exceptional optical depth.
Black obsidian is distinguished by its intense dark tone and controlled reflective quality. Brown, or mahogany, obsidian contains naturally occurring reddish-brown mineral formations that create layered patterns across the stone.
Because obsidian is a natural material, variations in colour, veining and internal structure are inherent to every piece. These differences are not imperfections but the identifying characteristics that make each cigar board unique.

The Obsidian Cigar Board & Serving Tray continues the G.P.Grant tradition of treating cigar accessories as permanent design objects rather than disposable serving equipment.
Each board requires careful stone selection, precision cutting and extensive hand polishing to achieve consistent channels, clean edges and an uninterrupted reflective surface. The elevated construction is fitted individually to the stone body to preserve stability and visual balance.
Produced in limited quantities, every tray combines traditional stone craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to cigar presentation, creating an object intended for private collections, refined interiors and ceremonial serving.
